I’m reading a classic mystery by a master of the genre. The Goodbye Look by Ross Macdonald is # 15 in the 18-book Lew Archer series that spans four decades and mostly explores the world of southern California and its characters who are often rich and/or corrupt.

Along the way, Macdonald redefines the role of private eye in his character Lew Archer. In this novel, Archer is hired by a wealthy family to find their missing adult son, which leads him to uncover one hidden family secret after another.

Highly recommend.
