REVIEW: Outsider: A Novel of Suspense

Linda Castillo’s Kate Burkholder series is one of my favorites, and her latest, Outsider: A Novel of Suspense, is another superb entry. This time, a character from Chief Burkholder’s past comes literally crashing into the more surface-quiet Amish world of this series.

Gina Colorosa was Kate’s best friend and a fellow rookie cop during the beginning of their law enforcement careers in Cleveland. Colorosa’s now running for her life from some dirty cops at home. After a snowstorm leaves her close to dead, a kind Amish widower with three children rescues her. Hiding out among the Amish, she turns to Kate for help.
