REVIEW: Snap Judgment by Marcia Clark

Superb dialogue for Clark’s main character!
Clark writes some of the best legal and investigative dialogue out there for her main character Samantha Brinkman. This hardly comes as a surprise, given Clark’s work and legal reputation before she turned author. It’s the greatest strength of this classic who-dunnit, as Samantha does her best to represent her client, the father of a murder victim. The other plot that really grabbed me was the drug lord who demands Samantha find the young woman who witnessed his nephew committing murder. Even though the woman is probably in witness protection, the drug lord has the goods to force Sam’s hand. I enjoy Sam’s toughness, rough edges, and willingness to bend the rules that all come into play as she solves her cases.
